A DAY IN THE LIFE Sample Custodian Technicians are responsible for ensuring that samples received, documented and stored correctly. Sample Custodians are responsible for notifying the Group Leader to receipt, volume, preservation, labeling, or other discrepancies that could affect the laboratory’s ability to meet the expectations of our clients. The ideal candidate will have experience in working under possibly hazardous conditions (e.g. pathogens or chemicals). Employees will be well-trained to maintain safety conditions and will be passionate for doing work that makes things move forward. Our Bay Area Service Center in Emeryville, CA is currently seeking a Full-Time Sample Receiving Technician to join our team. Pay: $20 - $22 Schedule: 10:00 am - 6:30 pm

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of general workplace practices and lab safety
Able to multi-task and communicate effectively (both oral and written)
Able to work independently and make sound decisions
Well organized and have an attention to detail

Responsibilities

Receives environmental samples into the laboratory according to Enthalpy’s SOPs
Performs data entry of sample and test information into Laboratory Information System (LIMS)
Label sample containers, store them in appropriate locations and/or contact the proper department to inform them of short holding time and/or rush requests.
Assists in sample bottle preparation
Assists in sample management/archiving and disposal
Assists in sample pickup or field sampling, if needed
Assists in the coordination of daily field sampling/pickup schedule, if needed
Provide back-up for daily intrastate sample transfers from Emeryville, CA to Coalinga, CA, if needed (evening/early morning hours)
Participates in focus teams to improve efficiency
Comply with Enthalpy’s Quality Assurance Program
Comply with Enthalpy’s Health and Safety Plan
Other duties as assigned
