We’re searching for a detail-oriented Sample Receiving & Log-In Technician to join our energy laboratory team in Plano, TX. In this role, you’ll handle the intake, documentation, and organization of environmental samples to support compliance and decision-making. From logging samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to overseeing storage and distribution, your work ensures accuracy, efficiency, and integrity across the lab.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience performing accurate data entry and/or administrative support with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer applications
  • Ability to work outside of scheduled hours, including evenings or weekends, as required to meet operational or workload needs

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience in a professional laboratory or sample management environment strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Receive and document samples from clients, couriers, shipping, laboratory, and/or field staff
  • Verify that all samples meet condition standards and comply with organizational policies, quality requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines
  • Accurately record sample information, details, and required analyses in laboratory software system
  • Label, organize, and distribute samples to appropriate personnel in a timely manner
  • Maintain orderly and secure sample storage areas and oversee the proper placement, retrieval, and disposal of samples in accordance with established protocols
  • Prepare sample kits and manage outbound shipments as required
  • Provide assistance to colleagues and support related operational functions, including inventory management, supply preparation, and general support activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
