We’re searching for a detail-oriented Sample Management Technician I to join our laboratory team in Reading, PA. In this role, you’ll handle the intake, documentation, and organization of environmental samples to support compliance and decision-making. From logging samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to overseeing storage and distribution, your work ensures accuracy, efficiency, and integrity across the lab. Please note: This is a full-time, onsite position scheduled Monday - Friday from 2 PM - 10 PM EST.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred
Prior laboratory, sample handling, or regulated work environment experience preferred
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong attention to detail with effective organizational and time-management skills

Responsibilities

Receive and document samples from clients, couriers, shipping, laboratory, and/or field staff
Verify that all samples meet condition standards and comply with organizational policies, quality requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines
Accurately record sample information, details, and required analyses in laboratory software system
Label, organize, and distribute samples to appropriate personnel in a timely manner
Maintain orderly and secure sample storage areas and oversee the proper placement, retrieval, and disposal of samples in accordance with established protocols
Prepare sample kits and manage outbound shipments as required
Provide assistance to colleagues and support related operational functions, including inventory management, supply preparation, and general support activities
Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment in alignment with company standards and safety requirements
Complete assigned tasks within established timelines while upholding accuracy, quality, and procedural standards
Perform other duties as assigned, within the scope of the position and training provided
