About The Position

The Sample Login Technician will perform many duties relating to receiving, logging in and routing samples to the appropriate laboratory. This is a fast paced environment where it is critical to be detail-oriented and accurate with data entered into our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Will have interaction with clients to ensure that all clients are treated with exceptional customer service Removal of samples from cooler to sort and fill out appropriate documentation regarding sample integrity Ensure all required documentation is thoroughly and completely filled out Learn to recognize short hold samples or those that will go out of hold in order to facilitate logging in and delivery of samples to the lab in an expeditious manner Learn the appropriate test codes for various matrices of samples Properly label samples and deliver those with short holding times or rush turnaround times Scan and extract Chains of Custody(COC) and internal Chains of Custody Record (COCR) Will assist with other responsibilities within the Sample Receiving Department when necessary to include asbestos login, bottle order preparation and/or bottle preservation, etc. Must adhere to all procedures, analytical and quality control protocols outlined in SOPs, the QA Manual and project specific requirements

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be a team player and have good communication & organizational skills
  • Must be efficient in managing multiple tasks
  • Must have computer proficiency
  • Detail oriented, flexible, dependable, with a willingness to learn new things
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends if necessary
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
  • Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English

Nice To Haves

  • Science degree preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of sample bottle types and preservation preferred

Responsibilities

  • Scanning and extracting Chains of Custody(COC) and internal Chains of Custody Record (COCR)
  • Assisting with other responsibilities within the Sample Receiving Department when necessary to include asbestos login, bottle order preparation and/or bottle preservation, etc.
  • Adhering to all procedures, analytical and quality control protocols outlined in SOPs, the QA Manual and project specific requirements
