About The Position

Eurofins Environment Testing operates out of more than 50 laboratories and over 40 service centers across the US. The network can provide full-service Environment Testing capabilities in all US states, either via direct local laboratory participation, or via the extensive logistics network. Through our sustained investment in people, technology, instrumentation, and infrastructure, Eurofins Environment Testing laboratories are positioned to support public and private sectors, DoD, DOE and Municipalities. Services include but are not limited to testing of the following matrices, compound/elemental/wet chemistry suites: Air & Vapor, Drinking/Potable Water, Dioxins/Furans and PCB Congeners, SVOC, VOC and Hydrocarbon, Groundwater, Surface & Non-Potable Water, Metals and Metal Speciation, PFAS, Radiochemistry, Sediment & Tissue, Treatability & Aquatic Toxicology, Soil & Hazardous Waste, Nutrients, Inorganic Non-Metallics, Oil, Fuel & Grease.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid state vehicle operator license.
• Must have the ability to operate a variety of assigned vehicles.
• Familiarity with laboratory QA/QC practices.
• Must be able to follow instruction and work under general supervision.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.
• Possess an understanding of basic technical knowledge as pertains to assigned department.
• Ability to learn quickly.
• Familiarity with computers is preferred.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to move a 55-gallon drum.
• Will need to complete 8 hours of Hac Comm training.
• Will need to wear a respirator for some aspects of this position.
• General understanding of lab operations.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and negative drug screen.
• Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the handling and disposal of samples and laboratory waste.
• Perform sample custodial duties including sample inventory upon receipt, sample storage, and sample disposal.
• Participate in the management of hazardous waste by ensuring proper storage and disposal.
• Directly responsible for sample dumping, weekly inspection of satellite containers and the drum storage area.
• Assist in moving drums to loading area for departure.
• Responsible for all non-reportable spill cleanup at ESS Laboratory.
• Assist laboratory in the disposal of cardboard boxes, bottles and other laboratory solid waste.
• Assist laboratory with glassware cleaning for all departments.
• Assist laboratory purchasing agent in the receipt, storage, and delivery of laboratory supplies.
• Assist the Logistics Supervisor in processing customer requests for cooler kits and sample containers.
• Assist the Logistic Supervisor in sample pickup when necessary.
• Assist field technicians with ISCO cleanup, bottle orders, and field sampling when necessary.
• Accountable for accurate documentation in accordance with ESS Laboratory policy and SOPs.
• Assist the Sample Receipt Supervisor and Sample receiver with the sample receiving process.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment in compliance with ESS Laboratory's Health & Safety program.
• Meet all quality criteria as specified in QA manual.
• Work and communicate with personnel of own and other departments to develop a team approach.
• Perform other duties as needed or assigned, including clerical duties to support the team.
