About The Position

The Salvage Yard Technician is responsible for dismantling heavy-duty trucks and equipment, including the removal of engines, transmissions, differentials, and other major components. This role also involves retrieving parts from the salvage yard to fulfill customer requests and assisting customers in locating specific parts on-site.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (MVR check required)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift certification
• Proficient in using torches, hand tools, and other mechanical equipment
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Dismantle heavy-duty trucks and equipment for parts recovery
• Retrieve and organize parts from the salvage yard based on customer needs
• Assist customers by guiding them to specific equipment or parts in the yard
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Operate large equipment and machinery safely and efficiently
• Occasionally drive company vehicles for parts transport or related tasks
