About the position

This position is responsible for the efficient operating of the beauty salon according to the procedures and developing an environment where there is a commitment and focus on providing the best service and quality. The Salon manager is responsible for the daily supervision of the Salon staff.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates and reinforces excellent customer service to promote a positive customer orientation in the Salon and ensure efficient, quality service.
  • Recruit, select, trains/develops and evaluates salon staff to assure that staff levels meet salon needs.
  • Promotes and maintains high standards of technical quality in the salon.
  • Enforces Fisher Island Club policies and procedures; keeps informed of employment laws and maintains personal files for each employee.
  • Maintains excellent communication within the salon; builds positive, fun working relationship with staff and promotes teamwork.
  • Manages and monitors all areas of salon operations to ensure salon runs smoothly.
  • Follows and reinforces proper appearance and apparel standards.
  • Monitors inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies are available to meet salon needs.
  • Manages opening and closing of salon.
  • Schedule effectively to manage payroll cost and ensure staff productivity.
  • Keep up-to-date current and new products in the Salon.
  • Follows and reinforces proper sales techniques for sale of retail products.
  • Maintain equipment and reinforces salon cleanliness and appearance to ensure a positive customer perception of the salon.
  • Manages and monitors all computers reports and functions to ensure accurate customer records are maintained and required reports are available when needed.
  • The ability to review all suggestions and comments from residents, members and guests and make necessary adjustments.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the completion of job duties related to matters of significance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Superior communication skills, exuding energy and creativity.
  • Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, as well as basic computer knowledge to include Word/Excel/Outlook.
  • Knowledge of spa/salon operations and trends.
  • Knowledge of salon trends to include hair/nail products/services.
  • POS experience.
  • Work is performed in a Salon environment and requires a 6-day working week, evening, weekend and holiday hours.
  • Extended periods of standing, walking is required.
  • Valid Florida driver's license to operate golf cart.
