About The Position

PolicyLink is seeking a Salesforce Product Owner to join our IT Operations team. The mission of the IT Operations team is to ensure that all PolicyLink staff are equipped with secure, reliable information systems and technology to support the organization’s work. The IT Operations Results Framework includes the following core strategies: Operational Excellence: Deliver consistent, high-quality technology services that support staff productivity and organizational outcomes Cybersecurity Hardening: Implement provisions, practices, and policies that safeguard PolicyLink’s systems and data Application Governance: Define and govern business applications and workflows to ensure staff have the tools they need to work efficiently Service Delivery and Operational Maturity: Evolve support protocols and key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve the staff support experience Reporting to the Director of IT Operations, the Salesforce Product Owner sets the vision, roadmap, and ongoing optimization of Salesforce at PolicyLink. This role bridges organizational needs across teams with technical delivery, manages the product backlog, drives user adoption, and ensures Salesforce is aligned with organizational goals, outcomes, and growth plans. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of nonprofit operations and demonstrated experience delivering CRM solutions in complex environments. PolicyLink is preparing to transition from Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) to Agentforce for Nonprofits. Phase 1 of this role focuses on supporting the migration and maintaining operational stability. Phase 2 transitions into full product ownership—driving strategy, governance, enhancements, and continuous improvement. The role works closely with business units across Operations, Communications, Development, and Programs, as well as the Salesforce Steering Committee and technical teams.

Requirements

  • Experience implementing Salesforce in the nonprofit sector.
  • Significant experience managing Salesforce projects in large, complex environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Agentforce for Nonprofits, Account Engagement, Service Cloud, Knowledge, and Agentforce.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and solutions.
  • Solid understanding of integrations, database concepts, and service-oriented architectures.
  • Experience with key Agile/Scrum practices and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong documentation and training capabilities.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Passion for the mission of PolicyLink and a commitment to social impact.
  • Ability to travel to required all staff convenings hosted by the organization.
  • Comfortable with results-based accountability and learning.
  • A minimum of 7–10 years of experience as a Salesforce Product Owner, Product Manager, or Business Analyst delivering solutions in an Agile environment.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce core objects, workflows, reporting, and dashboards.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting cross-functional projects, tracking milestones, and ensuring timely delivery of technology solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • experience with NPSP-to-Agentforce for Nonprofits migrations and one or more of the following certifications: CSPO; Salesforce Administrator; Nonprofit Cloud Consultant; Service Cloud Consultant; Salesforce Certified Business Analyst; Salesforce AI Associate.

Responsibilities

  • Support the transition from Salesforce NPSP to Agentforce for Nonprofits through requirements translation, data readiness, user acceptance testing (UAT) support, documentation, training, and post-launch improvements.
  • Partner with the Managed Services Provider to coordinate operations and maintenance requests, triage support tickets, and ensure stable platform performance during implementation.
  • Support communications, training, and adoption efforts to prepare staff for the new Salesforce environment.
  • Participate in data validation, workflow alignment, and issue resolution during testing and deployment.
  • Develop and communicate the Salesforce product vision and roadmap aligned with PolicyLink's goals and evolving operational needs.
  • Translate the roadmap into actionable initiatives and ensure implementation rigor, managing partners as needed
  • Establish and facilitate a Salesforce Steering Committee to evaluate enhancement requests, set platform priorities, and guide the product vision and roadmap.
  • Own, refine, and prioritize the product backlog (epics, features, and user stories), translating organizational needs into actionable work for development and configuration resources.
  • Serve as the primary liaison among business units, the Salesforce Steering Committee, and technical teams — gathering requirements, communicating progress, and securing buy-in.
  • Guide development efforts within an Agile framework, contributing to sprint planning, demonstrations, backlog refinement, and continuous improvement.
  • Champion usability and adoption by developing training materials, delivering clear communications, and establishing standardized operating procedures.
  • Design dashboards and reporting structures, monitor KPIs, and use insights to support decision-making, platform optimization, and organizational impact.
  • Stay current with Salesforce releases, trends, and AI capabilities; identify opportunities for innovation and improvement across the platform.
