The Salesforce Platform Architect is a senior technical leader responsible for designing and maintaining robust, scalable, and high-performing Salesforce architecture. This role defines technical standards, oversees platform-wide solution design, ensures architectural alignment across business units, and collaborates closely with stakeholders, developers, and product teams to enable strategic business outcomes.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing Salesforce solutions at scale
  • Deep understanding of Salesforce architecture, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Platform capabilities
  • Proven track record of architecting complex integrations and data models
  • Experience with enterprise governance, scalable design, and performance optimization
  • Strong expertise in Salesforce development (Apex, Lightning Components, Visualforce, APIs)
  • Experience with DevOps processes, CI/CD, and release management
  • Salesforce Development and Architect certifications (e.g., Application Architect and/or System Architect)
  • Ability to communicate strategic ideas and technical concepts to both business and IT stakeholders
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and leading technical teams
  • Proven experience designing and implementing integrations between Salesforce and third-party or internal systems, especially those utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) technologies (e.g., machine learning models, chatbots, predictive analytics).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and governance of Salesforce architecture
  • Define architectural strategy to support current and future business needs
  • Develop and maintain enterprise-level architectural standards, frameworks, and documentation
  • Advise on solution patterns, technical integrations, and platform capabilities
  • Provide technical oversight on major Salesforce initiatives
  • Review project and solution designs for compliance with architecture standards
  • Guide dev teams on scalable, secure, and maintainable solution design
  • Participate in or lead technical design sessions for complex projects
  • Drive platform integration and data strategy
  • Architect integrations between Salesforce and external systems (REST/SOAP, middleware, etc.)
  • Ensure data model design is optimized for performance, scalability, and reporting needs
  • Oversee data migration, quality, and synchronization strategies
  • Champion platform best practices and compliance
  • Establish and promote coding, security, and release management standards
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies
  • Conduct technical reviews, audits, and health checks of the Salesforce environment
  • Work closely with Product, Business, and IT leaders to align architectural direction with business strategy
  • Mentor Salesforce team members and lead knowledge-sharing initiatives
  • Communicate complex architectural concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Stay current with Salesforce innovation
  • Evaluate and recommend new Salesforce features, tools, and technologies
  • Guide the adoption of emerging platform capabilities and assess their business value
