The YMCA of Greater New York is here for all New Yorkers — to empower youth, improve health, and strengthen community. Founded in 1852, today the Y serves a diverse population of more than half a million New Yorkers who learn, grow, and thrive through programs and services at our 24 branches. Community is the cornerstone of the Y. Together, we connect active, engaged New Yorkers to build stronger communities. To help fulfill our mission, we cultivate a culture of learning, leading, and collaboration to enhance community impact. Through our talented staff and “LEAP” career framework (Leadership, Empowerment, Accountability, Personal Growth), we are committed to a people-first approach that fosters trust, inclusion, growth, and development for all. The YMCA of Greater New York Association Office is seeking a Salesforce Developer who will design, build, and maintain custom Salesforce applications and integrations within Salesforce to support the YMCA of Greater New York's mission. • Triage and resolve escalations, perform root-cause analysis, maintain code quality, and optimize system performance.
  • Partner with consultants and vendors to review solutions and ensure alignment with YMCA needs.
  • Provide Jira updates, contribute to leadership reporting, and support end-user communications.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Five (5+) years of Salesforce development experience across multiple modules (e.g., Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Nonprofit Success Pack).
  • Strong understanding of IT products and services.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I Certification (Developer II a plus). Other Relevant Certifications include Salesforce Administrator and Salesforce Platform App Builder.
  • Experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, SOQL, and integrations (APIs, middleware).
  • Knowledge of Workday integrations with Salesforce (e.g., HR, Finance, or Grants workflows).
  • Prior involvement in enterprise Salesforce migration, rebuild, or large-scale customization projects.
  • Strong understanding of software development best practices, version control (e.g., Git), and DevOps tools (e.g., Gearset).
  • Experience with issue triage, support workflows, and ticketing tools (e.g., Jira).
  • Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., Lambda, S3, API Gateway) for Salesforce integrations and cloud-based solutions.
  • Must be able to work onsite regularly, with a hybrid schedule that combines in-person and remote work days.
