FDM is seeking a Salesforce Developer located in Chicago, IL to support a project in the financial sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 12 months but may be extended. This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 3 days per week. The successful candidate will work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position. FDM is a global business and technology consultancy delivering client and industry driven solutions through our 5 core specialist Practices; Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, IT Operations, Change & Transformation, and Risk, Regulation & Compliance.

  • Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain custom Salesforce solutions (Apex Classes/Triggers, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce etc.)
  • Configure Salesforce declarative components: Flows, Process Builders, Validation Rules, Lightning Pages etc.
  • Integrate Salesforce with external systems (ERP, analytics, legacy systems) via APIs, middleware, or platform integration tools.
  • Manage multiple development & sandbox environments; handle migration & release management.
  • Perform code reviews, adhere to best practices and standards (security, performance, maintainability).
  • Collaborate with business analysts to gather requirements; translate requirements into technical specifications.
  • Provide support & bug fixing for existing components; optimize existing flows and code.
  • Ensure data integrity, implement data model changes, define sharing and security models.
  • Keep up with Salesforce releases and recommend how they can be leveraged.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficient in Apex, SOQL/SOSL, Lightning Web Components; experience with Visualforce or Aura where needed.
  • Strong declarative Salesforce skills: Flows, Process Builder, Lightning pages.
  • Experience with integrations (REST/SOAP APIs, middleware tools).
  • Understanding of version control, CI/CD pipelines, test automation.
  • Familiarity with environment management: sandboxes, production releases, deployment tools.
  • Good problem solving skills; ability to manage priorities, work with cross-functional teams.
  • Salesforce certifications (e.g. Platform Developer I and/or II, Salesforce Administrator, Platform App Builder)
  • Experience working in large / global companies, especially mining / industrial / supply chain domain.
  • Experience with large data volumes and performance/scaling / governor limits.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce Experience Cloud, CPQ, or other add-ons.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to document technical designs and business impact.
