Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent experience required. Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Sales & Marketing for Truckload Transportation carriers
  • Analytical, Client Relationship, Stamina, Negotiating, Leadership, Interpersonal and Short and long-term Thinking/Planning skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good judgment and problem solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years territorial management experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall coordination of the sales activities for all Regional Sales VP’s at U.S. Xpress, Inc.
  • Manage, mentor, guide, and appraise the performance of regional sales personnel to individual and corporate objectives.
  • Build goal focused strategy for sales area to achieve revenue and market objectives.
  • Identify short- and long-term needs of operations business owners and communicate this information to regional sales personnel
  • Review the dynamic business environment and create or modify sales plans to proactively address economic changes
  • Effectively manage subordinates using sales scorecard to measure and review performance
  • Communicate regularly with team on performance measurements
  • Drive performance improvements and address issues
  • Interface with senior executives, operations, customer service, pricing, sales and marketing on short- and long-term business needs and objectives
  • Translate the operations needs of multiple business owners into strategies and visions for specific sales regions
  • Responsible for the deployment and accountability of all annual pricing targets to regional sales personnel
  • Investigate and resolve escalated customer problems with the regional sales team
  • Sell USX services in a manner that maximizes revenue, meets operational velocity requirements, and addresses direction and seasonality needs in the assigned region
  • Identify market volatility in assigned territory and develop sales strategies to adapt to the changing business environment
  • Work with team to explore opportunities for generating new corporate accounts
  • Increase volume and margin with established customers for team
