About The Position

The Sales Trainer at HOLT Company of Texas is responsible for developing, delivering, and refining training programs specifically for the heavy equipment Machine Sales group. This role involves onboarding, coaching, and evaluating sales representatives, as well as distributing competitive sales information to support organizational goals. The Sales Trainer will utilize various instructional techniques to engage participants and assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred.
  • Eight years of related experience required, ten years preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of the heavy equipment industry, including market trends and customer needs.
  • Comprehensive understanding of sales processes and techniques.
  • Sound knowledge of adult learning principles and effective training methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish working relationships across departments.
  • Ability to develop various sales training materials including manuals and presentations.
  • Excellent planning and coordination skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products; Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills.

  • Previous experience in a training role within a corporate environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver sales-related curriculum and industry-specific workshops.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to incorporate technical and dealership selling features into training programs.
  • Create structured training schedules and deliver training sessions across the sales team.
  • Engage participants using instructional techniques such as role-playing and hands-on demonstrations.
  • Train Sales Representatives on effective sales techniques including prospecting and closing deals.
  • Facilitate evaluative sales ride-along sessions to assess salesperson effectiveness and document findings.
  • Monitor and report on sales metrics to determine training effectiveness.
  • Coach and reinforce tools and processes taught in training classes.
  • Participate in the interviewing process for sales team candidates and provide recommendations.
  • Continually acquire new sales and instructional skills for professional growth.
