About the position

The STAR (Sales Training and Readiness) program at Reliance Standard is designed to prepare early career professionals for a successful career in business sales and service. Over the course of one year, participants will gain product knowledge, develop selling skills, and engage in hands-on activities under the supervision of local managers. The program culminates in a sales position with significant growth and earnings potential, along with the opportunity to obtain professional certifications such as the Certified Leave Management Specialist (CLMS).

Responsibilities

  • Gain product and industry knowledge through extensive training on group employee benefit products and services.
  • Develop strong selling skills and collaborate with colleagues and sales leaders.
  • Participate in hands-on activities to prepare for a sales role while impacting the business.
  • Obtain state insurance license with full sponsorship during the program.
  • Job shadow and network to enhance learning and professional connections.
  • Work through actual cases with manager and peers to solve client problems.
  • Prepare for a sales career by completing the STAR program and obtaining the CLMS designation.

Requirements

  • Early career professional or a Senior pursuing a 4-year college degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Self-motivated and metrics-driven with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize daily tasks and responsibilities effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and collaborate with others to solve problems.
