At DTN, we specialize in assisting new car dealerships in leveraging market data to optimize their inventory, enhance their dealer-to-dealer trade network, and efficiently manage vehicle logistics to and from their dealership locations. As a Sales Team Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading our sales team toward achieving their sales targets and ensuring the overall success of our dealership clients. This management position may oversee a team of 12 or more direct reports, providing guidance, coaching, and support to drive exceptional performance and results. As a Sales Team Manager, you will leverage your expertise in sales and leadership to bring fresh insights and recommendations, significantly contributing to the overall success of this position. The ideal candidate should have a strong sales process background, proficiency in lead generation, effective communication (both written and verbal), deal closure, and expert deal issue resolution. Additionally, you will be responsible for the growth and management of a team of 12+ Inventory Consultants. Success in the role will be heavily based on your ability to coach and grow the productivity of the sales team.

Requirements

  • 3 - 7 years of proven sales experience, 2+ years in the automotive industry preferred
  • High School diploma required; college preferred
  • Must have a proven track record in motor vehicle sales.
  • Sales Strategy Development: Proficient in creating and executing sales strategies that maximize dealer-to-dealer trade solutions and drive revenue growth.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Advanced skills in analyzing sales performance metrics to guide strategic initiatives and optimize team productivity.
  • IT Integration Expertise: Skilled in leveraging IT tools and systems to enhance sales processes, improve reporting, and streamline operations.
  • Recruitment & Training: Proven ability to identify, recruit, onboard, and develop top sales talent, supported by effective training and coaching programs.
  • Advanced Reporting: Experience in developing cascading reporting mechanisms that align with dealership management practices and improve transparency.
  • Conflict Resolution: Proficient in resolving deal-related issues quickly and effectively to ensure client satisfaction and maintain team success.
  • Senior Sales Leadership: Adept at leading high-performing sales teams, setting ambitious targets, and delivering consistent results in competitive markets.
  • Market Adaptability: Able to pivot strategies quickly in response to changing market demands and client needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Sales experience in the automotive industry is highly preferable
  • Experience working in a similar role is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the COO to establish team objectives and diligently analyze performance data to ensure the application of effective sales strategies.
  • Lead and oversee a dynamic team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs)s, Inventory Consultants, and Senior Inventory Consultants, focusing on maximizing the DTN dealer-to-dealer trade solution within their book of customers.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous growth by managing the recruitment, training, and guidance of team members, ensuring they employ effective sales tactics to achieve monthly Fee Generated targets.
  • Conduct daily check-in meetings with the sales team to set clear objectives, monitor progress, and drive the achievement of company quotas.
  • Participate in daily stand-up meetings, championing various initiatives to ensure the sales team's success.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with your team members and the executive leadership team, providing regular updates on sales progress.
  • Play a pivotal role in sales deal issue resolution, utilizing your expertise to swiftly and effectively address and resolve any challenges that may arise during the sales process.
  • Continuously review and enhance sales metrics and performance evaluation categories to facilitate ongoing team improvement.
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly performance reports to Inventory Consultants, offering valuable feedback and recognizing achievements, and coach and mentor when appropriate based on individual performance.
