About The Position

The Sales Tax Analyst is a key member of the Operating Tax Team at Ryder, responsible for maintaining the company's sales and use tax policies, procedures, and systems. This role involves analyzing transactions, researching applicable sales and use tax laws, and making recommendations for tax planning and problem resolution. The analyst will leverage technology to support compliance, audits, and refund projects while identifying opportunities for process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• 3 years of relevant sales and use tax experience
• Strong understanding of US sales and use tax laws and GAAP
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
• Experience with RIA Checkpoint, Avalara Tax Research, Alteryx, Vertex Indirect Tax O Series, Thompson Reuter's OneSource Determination
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Commitment to process improvements

Nice To Haves

• CPA or Master's degree
• Knowledge of Canadian GST/HST/PST
• Experience in Fleet Leasing & Rental, Supply Chain and Trucking
• Experience in using AS400
