About The Position

The Sales Tax Accountant is responsible for managing the accurate and timely filing of sales & use tax, battery tax, tire tax returns as well as the payment of these taxes owed to the appropriate state and local jurisdictions. The Sales Tax Accountant will work closely with the accounting and finance team to ensure that all sales tax liabilities are properly recorded in the financial records. The Sales Tax Accountant will also be responsible for researching and resolving any sales tax issues that arise.

Requirements

1-3 years of professional accounting experience.
DMS and accounting systems.
Knowledge of GAAP
Sales tax software processes and/or systems.
Background In Sales Tax.
Strict attention to detail, highly organized, and efficient.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Must be able to pass post offer drug test, physical and background check.

Responsibilities

Assist with filing sales tax returns for multiple states in a timely and accurate manner.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state and local sales tax laws and regulations.
Research and resolve sales tax notices received from various taxing authorities.
Prepare monthly accruals for sales tax.
Assist with audits conducted by state and local taxing authorities.
Train staff on proper sales tax procedures.
Maintain sales tax codes in Excede.
Sales tax accounts reconciliation and management
Remote position with some travel to Nashville
