About The Position

Responsible for providing support to key customers onsite through leading packing team, documenting packing procedures and being on site support for forecasting and new product designs. Will primarily be located on customer site, with occasional work at TransPak facility as needed.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience measuring and designing.
  • Strong Microsoft Suite skills.
  • Minimum 3 years packing experience.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent experience in field.
  • At least 6 months experience working with power tools, especially pneumatic power tools.
  • 3 to 6 months experience with woodworking, wood crafting, carpentry, or other related experience required.
  • Able to operate forklift, pallet jacks, hand-truck to move heavy materials or product.
  • Spatial awareness and attention to detail in packing and securing materials onto crate with care to avoid damage to customer product as instructed.
  • Work independently or in teams with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate and understand written and verbal instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English-Spanish speaker.
  • Valid state Class C driver’s license.
  • At least 23 years of age.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Previous experience driving box trucks and bobtail trucks.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Flexible to changes in work priorities and schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Measures new products and gathers critical dimensions and characteristics to feed to design for product development.
  • Documents packing procedures for prototype items to be mass produced around the world.
  • Works with customer engineers and logistics personnel to determine upcoming workload and shipping forecasts.
  • Assists customer with open orders, RMAs, redesigns.
  • Carefully lifts, pushes, and places customer equipment/materials inside of TransPak manufactured crates using hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, ladders, or ramps in order to ship customer equipment/materials without damage.
  • Unloads, prepares, and completes assembly of the crate at customer site if not already assembled using hammers, cordless nail guns, or power drills.
  • Addresses and reports all equipment defects or maintenance needs to maintain safe and efficient use.
  • Follows all procedures, policies and knows the equipment before using it.
  • Speaks up when observing something that may be unsafe or someone performing unsafe acts.
  • Efficiently performs work according to standard operating procedures.
  • Works together with other team members to accomplish tasks safely in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Gathers feedback from and resolves customer issues.
  • Maintains records of scheduled jobs upon delivery and packing.
  • Communicates with supervisor/dispatch on completion of jobs.
