About The Position

The Sales/SR Sales Representative for Pets at Boehringer Ingelheim is responsible for generating sales, increasing market share, and achieving profitability results within the assigned territory. This role involves collaborating with internal and external resources, conducting customer training, and executing brand strategies to promote BIAH products effectively. The representative will utilize CRM tools for planning and reporting, analyze market conditions, and maintain high ethical standards in all business dealings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Minimum of two to five (2-5) years of relevant field sales experience in a competitive selling environment required, or a minimum of two (2) years as a licensed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
  • Animal health or related industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to work with general supervision and general knowledge of industry practices.
  • Experience presenting to various size audiences.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and desire to sell and gain market share.
  • Ability to learn technical product knowledge quickly.
  • Key competencies include interpersonal skills, drive, resilience, persuasive skills, teamwork, organization skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • PC skills and ability to use mobile applications.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Meets sales objectives and supports attainment of district and regional/business unit performance objectives.
  • Develops market, customer, and industry knowledge along with technical product knowledge.
  • Performs customer/consumer training meetings and supports convention and professional association business building opportunities.
  • Maintains expert product knowledge and effective selling skills to influence customers.
  • Executes brand strategies to ensure a consistent sales and marketing message.
  • Utilizes CRM tools to create pre-call plans and maintain territory records.
  • Analyzes territory information to optimize customer calls and create an annual business plan.
  • Monitors market conditions for changes that impact business and achieves sales plan within budget.
  • Completes all sales training requirements and adheres to company regulations and policies.
