Indiana Packers Corporation (IPC), a dynamic pork processor based in Delphi, Indiana, is seeking an experienced and motivated Inside Sales Representative - Fresh Pork Industrial Accounts. This position, reporting to the Director of Product Management, is focused on building upon existing relationships while discovering new outlets as needed. With this, there is an existing level of product management for processor specific categories. In partnership with the balance of the Product Management group, they function as a conduit between customers and our internal operations, i.e. Quality Assurance, Operations, Demand Planning, etc. This individual is part of a growing sales team and is integral in moving our business forward. The environment and overall marketplace is fast paced, ever changing, and requires significant attention to detail to perform at the highest level.

  • Build and enhance relationships with assigned customers and key targets.
  • Primary contact for designated accounts, and responsible for resolving issues related to price, products, inventory deliveries, and potential quality concerns.
  • Negotiate product offerings with the expectation that they meet or exceed corporate performance targets.
  • Order entry and evaluation to ensure accuracy across product pricing and availability.
  • Identifying customer needs and matching current product portfolio to said needs.
  • Manage a product category, including forecasting and inventory evaluations, pricing strategy, and maximizing profitability of the product category.
  • Work closely with internal operations; marketing, operations, quality assurance, demand planning, etc. to align customer demands with internal capabilities.
  • Foster strong communications both internally and externally, ensuring they receive vital information in a timely manner.
  • Perform other tasks or duties as required or needed.
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, Animal Science, Meat Science or any related field is preferred.
  • 2-5 years' experience selling fresh pork to processor companies OR 2-5 years of IPC industry related experience.
  • Knowledge of meat industry and domestic network of further processing facilities.
  • Ability to formulate accurate sales quotes to ensure maximum profitability.
  • Proficient in pork commodity market evaluation, relative meaning in current marketplace, and how to apply in direct sales conversations.
  • Knowledge of industry related products and the relative production process.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Willingness to relocate to the surrounding area if determined necessary.
