About The Position

Methods Machine Tools was established in 1958 with three employees and a handful of refurbished machines. Since then, the company has become one of the largest privately owned machine tool importers in North America. Methods designs and implements custom machining setups, including machine tool selection, automation integration, and turnkey automation cells. The corporate campus in Sudbury, Mass., comprises a showroom/technical center, which contains automation, applications, and a full range of cutting-edge machines. Methods has more than 300 employees, nine technology centers, one high precision machining center, and has installed more than 40,000 machines throughout North America. Job Summary: The Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth by acquiring new clients and maintaining relationships with existing customers. This position requires a deeper understanding of the company’s products and services, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to work independently to meet sales targets. The ideal candidate has prior sales experience and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals in the following areas:

Requirements

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Experience using CRM software and sales tracking tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a sales pipeline effectively.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of sales experience, preferably in [industry-specific] sales.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and close sales opportunities through cold calls, networking, and referrals.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and negotiations to win new business.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to expand the customer base and increase market share.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to drive repeat business.
  • Understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions to maximize value.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, offering product recommendations and industry insights.
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales quotas and revenue targets.
  • Maintain detailed records of sales activities, customer interactions, and deals in CRM software.
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Work closely with the sales team, marketing department, and customer support to optimize the sales process.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and new product developments.
  • Mentor and support entry-level sales representatives when needed.
