About Cobalt & Specialty Materials Mastering the cobalt value chain. Umicore’s expertise covers the sourcing, production and distribution of cobalt and nickel products. Umicore’s materials are at the heart of products we use every day such as rechargeable batteries, tools, paints and tires. Our recycling and refining processes give new life to cobalt and other metals and reduce environmental impacts. To meet the demands of our customers we cannot stand still. We need to find new ways to do things, discover new solutions and develop new ideas. Which is where you come in. What you will be doing As our Sales Representative, you will be driving growth of sales revenue in a designated area by prospecting new business and establishing new customers.

Requirements

  • A degree in business or chemistry/related sciences
  • At least three years’ practical working experience in sales or marketing of industrial products
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently with minimal supervision, and
  • Aptitude for developing and maintaining strong customer relationships with patience and persistence.

Responsibilities

  • Contacting identified accounts via phone and in-person to develop customer relationships and facilitate sales;
  • In consultation with the Commercial Director, propose pricing, recommend inventory programs and customer payment methodologies, and negotiate contracts;
  • Complete special projects such as market and industry trend analyses;
  • Interface with Customer Service, Purchasing, Compliance, and Shipping/Receiving to support efficient processing of orders, respond to customer needs, and fulfill orders in a timely manner;
  • Participate in trade shows and industry conventions; and,
  • Other duties as needed.
