About The Position

The Sales Representative is responsible for representing our products to retailers on behalf of Lehi Valley Trading Company and Midwest. Specifically, the Sales Representative manages our current customer base and grows additional business within the Midwest scope of customers and regions.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business or similar degree is highly preferred.
  • 5 + years of experience in a sales capacity, specifically in food.
  • Familiar with food retail and food manufacturing sales
  • Must have knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.
  • Must have good influencing skills to provide the customer with the right solutions for growing their snack revenue.
  • Must have excellent communication skills to represent the company to external customers and exchange information.
  • Must have exceptional skills developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with both customers and across the business. Dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations.
  • Must have excellent skills in handling customer complaints, resolving conflicts and negotiating with others to support sales goals.
  • Must demonstrate critical thinking skills to identify the challenges and opportunities of alternative options.
  • Must have excellent time management skills.
  • Must have excellent knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Solidifying current customer relationships under the Midwest Scope of Customers.
  • Collaborating with Plant Management to ensure orders are fulfilled as expected or communicating alternative solutions if delays occur.
  • Understands the strategic objectives of all customers and prospective customers.
  • Forecasts and tracks client account metrics
  • Able to upsell current customers while prospecting new customers
  • Able to sell, negotiate and execute snack programs.
  • Facilitating new idea discussions with VP Sales and Marketing and other sales team members on behalf of customer opportunities
  • Actively attends trade shows by securing meetings in advance of the shows.
  • Grows the sales pipeline by actively upselling and prospecting.
