About The Position

Exemplis, manufacturer of SitOnIt Seating, is seeking a Sales Representative to support and grow business in the South Texas territory. This role is responsible for developing commercial, healthcare, government, and higher education business by working closely with our dealer partners, end users, and the A&D community. The Sales Representative will focus on driving specifications, supporting distribution partners, and managing project-based sales within the territory. This position requires regular local and regional travel and the ability to transport product samples.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of outside sales experience in a B2B, project-based, or territory sales environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with dealer or distribution partners to support sales activities and close business.
  • Experience presenting products or solutions to customers, end users, or professional audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, accounts, and priorities across a defined territory.
  • Proficiency with basic business tools, including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly within the South Texas territory, including transporting product samples.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field or equivalent professional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience selling contract furniture or commercial furnishings, preferably within a manufacturer or dealer environment.
  • Experience selling into commercial, healthcare, education, or government vertical markets.
  • Proven experience developing and driving specifications with architects, designers, and specifiers.
  • Familiarity with contract sales processes, including project pipelines, bids, and long sales cycles.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM systems for contact management, project tracking, and forecasting.
  • Experience supporting or coordinating with distribution, operations, or installation partners.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to support and partner with Dealer Sales Representatives to provide seating solution options to their clients. Includes providing product information, samples of the chairs, marketing materials to support the dealer sale.
  • Ability to call on end user client independently of the dealer to communicate company’s value proposition and products to achieve sales. Understanding of vertical markets; higher education, government, healthcare, and their specific needs and nuances.
  • Calls on interior designers within A&D firms to provide company’s product solutions and build relationships through a variety of creative means including CEUs, events, lunch & learns and one on one meetings to develop specifications and product preference within the firm.
  • Actively participates, when appropriate, in team-based selling activities.
  • Manages within assigned expense budget.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
