About The Position

Sales Representative / District Sales Manager / Outside Sales is required to join a well-established industrial manufacturer specializing in filtration systems, pumps, pipes, valves, and fittings. The ideal candidate will have experience in outside sales, with a strong focus on account management and business development, specifically within the mechanical systems industry. Sales Representative / District Sales Manager / Outside Sales will ideally have knowledge of mechanical products such as filtration systems, pumps, pipes, valves, and fittings. Experience in working with these products will be highly beneficial, although we will also consider candidates with transferable industrial product knowledge. This role focuses on maintaining and expanding an established customer base within Detroit, Michigan. This is a senior sales role, focusing on both account management and territory growth. The successful candidate will manage an established territory and contribute to increasing market share by developing new business opportunities.

Requirements

  • At least 3-4 years of outside sales experience in an industrial sales environment.
  • Experience in business development or territory management is a plus.
  • Understanding of pipes, valves, fittings, filtration systems, and pumps or a willingness to learn about these technical products.
  • Strong background in account management and the ability to develop new business.
  • Must reside in or near Detroit, Michigan or be willing to relocate to the area.
  • Preferably from a background in filtration systems, pumps, or related mechanical products, but we are open to candidates from different industrial backgrounds.
  • Open to candidates who are willing to learn new product lines and technologies, with a strong desire to grow within the company.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with customers, clients, and internal teams.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a consultative sales environment

Responsibilities

  • Managing the Detroit territory, covering contractors, OEMs, resellers, and end users.
  • Full ownership of existing accounts and business development efforts.
  • Working with Pumps, Filtration, Valves, fluid handling and fluid power equipment
  • Work closely with internal teams (sales, engineering, applications) to ensure business growth.
  • Ability to travel efficiently within the Detroit territory and manage large accounts.
