About The Position

The primary purpose and function of this position is to sell in supplier products and provide value added services and resources to retail accounts as directed in the Columbia area. This role involves maintaining retail call frequency on assigned key wine & spirits accounts, developing and planning promotional activities, booking and executing sampling events, gaining taps, building and restocking displays, placing POCM, and selling in additional shelf space. The representative will also communicate monthly pricing information, suggestively sell-in consumer price points, and proactively manage price gaps versus competition. Key responsibilities include introducing and selling new and existing brands and packages, growing distribution through targeted focus on potential wine and spirits accounts and non-buys, and implementing local execution of supplier marketing programs and special marketing events. The role requires completing necessary paperwork, selling, delivering, and merchandising Non-Alcohol, Wine, and Spirits products, identifying and opening new accounts, and communicating with all company departments. Participation in evening and weekend promotions is also expected, along with compliance with company and supplier standards and all Federal, State, and Local liquor regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate required
  • Two years sales experience
  • Highly self-motivated with a positive attitude
  • Project a friendly, courteous and professional image
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent customer orientation with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to safely operate job related equipment
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the job including, but not limited to: repetitively handling cases of beer, reaching above head height, climbing, bending, twisting, squatting and kneeling
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push or pull package product weighing 50 plus pounds; and draught product weighing up to 165 pounds
  • Regular and reliable attendance required
  • Valid driver license and safe driving record
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and some holidays as needed
  • Technologically proficient; including familiarity with MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to pass a required pre-employment background and drug screening
  • Ability to perform all essential job functions and duties as assigned

Responsibilities

  • Grow distribution through targeted focus on potential wine and spirits accounts and non-buys
  • Plan, coordinate and implement the local execution of supplier marketing programs in key wine & spirits accounts and special marketing events
  • Complete required paperwork such as point sheets, expense reports, tracking forms, surveys and work orders
  • Responsible for the selling, delivering and merchandising of Non-Alcohol, Wine, and Spirits products in designated accounts of responsibility
  • Identify and open up new accounts as needed
  • Communicate with all Company departments as necessary
  • Participate in evening and weekend promotions as necessary
  • Comply with all Grey Eagle and supplier standards and policies
  • Adhere to all Federal, State and Local liquor regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
