About The Position

This is a great opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic candidate to promote sales of Metrology products to distributors and end users within an assigned territory. The Sales Representative will be responsible for communicating sales trend information and customer comments to appropriate Mitutoyo America personnel for action. This position requires a proactive approach to establishing and maintaining relationships with distributors and end users, ensuring that Mitutoyo America products are effectively promoted and sold. The role involves significant travel, with up to 75% of the time spent traveling outside the local area, often requiring overnight stays. The Sales Representative will establish distributors for various product groups within the assigned territory and develop accounts while assigning distributor sales quotas. Regular sales calls to current and potential distributors will be necessary to promote new products, check inventories, review promotional supplies, conduct sales meetings, and assist with problem resolution. Additionally, the representative will make sales calls to end users, either independently or alongside distributor personnel, to promote Mitutoyo America products. The role also includes developing target accounts and specific product lines, performing software demonstrations, and providing instruction on products as required. The Sales Representative will review personal and distributor performance regarding orders received, shipments, and product quantities, taking corrective action as necessary. Participation in trade shows, maintaining CRM systems, and prospecting for new accounts are also key responsibilities. The position requires strong communication skills, both oral and written, as well as problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused approach.
