As a Sales Representative for Sherwin-Williams, you will play a crucial role in driving sales and achieving budgetary goals within the General Industrial sector. Your primary responsibility will be to achieve or exceed the sales budget and margin contribution budget while maintaining expenses at or below budget. You will be tasked with increasing gallon growth and expanding opportunity account sales. This position requires you to collect reliable customer and territory information to estimate individual customer potential, conduct competitive product testing, and identify the strengths and weaknesses of competitors in relation to Sherwin-Williams' offerings. You will develop a territory market development plan and obtain necessary approvals, as well as create a strategy to sell to target customers. This includes identifying specific items or product categories that require focused attention. A weekly selling plan will be developed, and you will conduct sales calls accordingly, sometimes in conjunction with the Store/Facility Manager. Understanding where the customer is in the selling process and determining the necessary steps to advance the process will be key to your success. Product demonstrations will be a significant part of your role, supporting the selling process and helping to open new accounts. You will need to access product and technical information to meet customer application requirements and complete required call and expense reports in a timely manner. Identifying sources of sales leads and following through on leads provided by store personnel will also be part of your responsibilities. You will work closely with the Store/Facility Manager to resolve any product supply problems and handle customer complaints effectively. Additionally, you will assist in conducting customer surveys and servicing existing accounts to ensure continued loyalty.
