The Sales Representative/Arborist position at Homer Companies is a full-time role focused on developing and maintaining client relationships within the tree care industry. The primary responsibilities include visiting clients' properties to assess their tree and plant needs, preparing detailed proposals for both current and potential clients, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. The role requires a solid understanding of tree care equipment and practices, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with clients to address their needs and concerns. In this position, the Sales Representative/Arborist will perform all sales activities within a defined territory, striving to meet and exceed sales expectations. This includes preparing proposals for potential clients, aiding in the development and implementation of Plant Health Care (PHC) programs, and contributing to safety program initiatives. The role also involves identifying and treating pest-infested and diseased trees, applying pesticides and specialized fertilizers, and maintaining constant communication with clients to ensure their satisfaction with the services provided. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and time management skills, along with a deep knowledge of trees, insects, and diseases. They should also be familiar with proper pruning standards and have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. A degree in Agriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Environmental Science, or Plant Science is preferred but not mandatory. The position requires an ISA Arborist Certification and 3-5 years of related experience in the tree care industry or prior sales experience. A clean driving record with no moving violations is also necessary for this role.
