About The Position

The Retail Parts Pro at Advance Auto Parts is a professional-level sales position focused on supporting the DIY business. This role requires expert knowledge of automotive systems, store inventory, and advanced sales techniques to assist customers effectively. The position involves providing exceptional customer service, managing DIY services, and achieving sales goals while maintaining store standards.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of prior automotive parts experience
• Proven sales ability with past experience in fulfillment of customer transactions
• Working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic ability
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (Spanish a plus)
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to use Microsoft software effectively (Word, Excel required)
• Valid driver's license
• ASE certification preferred, but not required

Nice To Haves

• ASE Parts Specialist Certification
• Basic math skills
• Experience with inventory control
• Familiarity with POS systems
• Automotive diagnostics knowledge

Responsibilities

• Provide GAS2 selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls
• Achieve personal/store sales goals and service objectives
• Manage DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs
• Ensure high standards of customer service and store appearance standards
• Perform key holder responsibilities including task assignment and completion, safety, and open/close duties
• Assist in store inventory processes including truck put away, shoot outs, cycle counts, and back stock
• Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, and parking lot
• Provide DIY services such as battery installation and testing
