The purpose of this classification is to perform work functions associated with assisting customers to select and purchase merchandise in order to achieve and maintain established sales goals. This role involves maintaining sales quotas, advising customers on quality, style, or value of home furnishings merchandise, and developing expertise in customer experience and sales execution. Responsibilities include verifying prices, calculating sales discounts, preparing and placing tags on merchandise, setting up advertising displays, and stocking sales areas. The Sales Person will also load pick-ups, resolve customer complaints, make sales prospecting calls, maintain accurate customer records in a CRM system, and handle customer inquiries in person or via telephone. Other duties include attending sales meetings, maintaining cleanliness of the sales area, assisting with credit applications, setting up delivery/pickup times, composing thank-you notes, keeping sales records, and operating various office equipment. The position requires adherence to company standards such as Display Standards, Customer Service Counter Standards, Telephone Standards, Farmers Sales Floor Standards, and active engagement with the S.W.I.N.G. program, while upholding H.O.M.E. values. Additional functions include assisting in other store departments as required.
