About The Position

The Sales Manager at Tundra Lodge Resort and Waterpark is a full-time position focused on driving sales for group guestroom blocks across various market segments including corporate, association, government, SMERF, and tour and travel. The role involves prospecting, selling, and managing accounts to meet assigned sales revenue goals and contribute to the hotel's overall marketing plans.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of hotel structure and departmental interactions.
  • Basic math and calculator skills for preparing cost proposals.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly and positive manner.
  • Proficiency in English to ascertain and respond to client needs.
  • Considerable skills in using computers in a Windows-based environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP or newer, Excel, and in-house property management sales software.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers with patience and diplomacy.
  • Understanding of principles relating to the product being sold.
  • Organizational skills to manage activities efficiently.
  • Maintaining enthusiasm and interest in functions with buyers and sellers.
  • Accurate record-keeping of contracts, sales, and purchases.

Nice To Haves

  • Four-year college degree preferred, but any combination of education and training in hotel sales may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to conduct outside calls and promote the hotel while reviewing competition to develop leads.
  • Complete sixty (60) qualified prospecting sales calls per week to increase revenues.
  • Conduct five (5) site inspections per week.
  • Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel to previous, current, and potential clients.
  • Prepare information for, meet with, and entertain clients as deemed appropriate for potential business.
  • Handle account details to ensure all aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented.
  • Coordinate various departments' participation in servicing accounts.
  • Create five (5) new sales files per week to expand the file base and selling opportunities.
  • Follow all established policies and procedures relating to the administration of accounts and booking of business.
