The Sales Manager will build a sales team and provide leadership to achieve the full potential of growth/profitability as per company goals and targets. This role delivers a strategic plan to grow the customer base in the HTX Forklifts market area and contributes to the development of customer-centric based solutions. The Sales Manager will work closely with internal contributors to implement and manage all sales aspects of the new/used forklifts, warehouse/allied products, and service/parts/rental sales strategy.

Requirements

  • A college degree is preferred, but not required.
  • 5+ years proven sales management experience in multi-location operation with a large span of control.
  • Exceptional and Proven leadership and team-building skills with proven negotiating ability.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Ability to travel throughout North Texas.
  • A Sales Management or Business Development professional with 5+ years of diversified industry experience in Material Handling products.
  • Must be fluent in English. Understanding of Spanish will be considered a plus.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Basic knowledge and ability to learn CRM products.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of current social media and basic management of accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales and profit goals.
  • Responsible for the performance and development of all salesmen in material handling regardless of function.
  • Assists in establishing and meeting vendor / other OEM performance commitments.
  • Develop strong relationships with OEM’s while representing HTX Forklifts in the most professional manner possible.
  • Maintains contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Prepare marketing action plans for effective search of sales leads and prospects.
  • Initiates and coordinates the development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
  • Understands the importance of timely follow-up with customers, managers, and staff making communication a top priority.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.
  • Conducts one-on-one meetings with all direct reports to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of sales and activity performance.
  • Provides timely feedback to Senior Management regarding performance.
  • Understands market pricing levels and works with sales staff to increase market share while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.
  • Maintains accurate records of all prices, sales, and activity reports submitted by sales staff.
  • Assists Account Managers in the preparation of proposals and presentations.
  • Controls departmental expenses to meet budget guidelines.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the sales team.
  • Recruits, tests, and hires sales staff based on criteria set by senior management.
  • Assists in the implementation and use of a CRM system and ensures it is used to its full capacity.
  • Works across the entire HTX Forklifts footprint to do the right thing for all customers.
