About The Position

Build and lead an assigned sales team network to uncover additional sales opportunities and channels. Initiate, build and maintain strategic relationships with Sale Associates, Account Executives and Corporate Sales Managers. Ensure market profitability through key initiatives, local partnerships and motivating the sales team. Coach, develop and drive team members to achieve individual and company objective. Resolve account issues to ensure complete client satisfaction. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Actively support the VTCI’s mission and vision and demonstrate values consistently. Work effectively as a team player with all VTCI employees. Oversees and direct sales team; ensure functions and departmental team goals and strategies are fully aligned with VTCI’s overall mission, goals and key initiatives. Provide overall direction and management to the sales team to achieve the VTCI’s sales goals. Develop skills of sales team to provide for long term stability in Sales department. Keeps Direct Supervisor/Manager advised of trends affecting the VTCI’s competitive status. Perform other duties in support of the sales function, including negotiating rates and contracts with the VTCI’s customers. Instill an environment of accountability and achievement by measuring progress and addressing performance trends. Ensure that the sales teams deliver the highest standard of customer service. Represent VTCI with public, community groups and professional organizations.  Set high standards for articulation and presentation of key messages and the VTCI value proposition. Create strategic and tactical sales plans and guide the Sales team in implementing them to maximize revenue and growth.  Meet assigned sales quota by acquiring new customer business and renewing and growing existing relationships. Call on prospective customers, providing technical and administrative product information, demonstrations, and price quotes. Accurately forecast and close sales in alignment with company goals.  Maintain a pipeline of potential Sales team members. Remains up to date on all relevant OSHA, Safety or departmental specific standards. Ensures that all relevant standards are maintained by subordinates. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BBA/MBA preferred) from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience plus 3 or more years of management experience.
  • Sales background in the following: Fixed wireless and other telecommunications products such as DIA, FIA, PRI, SIP, T1, TDM lines
  • Telephony System Sales
  • Television Subscriber Sales
  • Network system design Sales
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and insurable record.
  • Must pass pre-employment screen, physical and background checks.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work at multiple locations within a region
  • Strong personal and professional network in our geographic service area
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Solid understanding of complete sales cycle management, from prospecting to closing.

  • Knowledge of telecommunications technology, products and services.
  • Knowledge of management principles and practices.
  • Skill in operating various types of office equipment such as personal computer, various software programs, and telephone systems.

  • Ability to communicate with customers, employees, and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
