About The Position

Beverly Wilshire is seeking a candidate to join our dynamic Commercial team as a Sales Manager. Our Sales Manager promotes and sells to gro up markets in our region, generates hotel/resort awareness through direct phone sales, direct sales calls, tradeshows and networking gro up s, and works closely with the commercial team to solicit , sell and confirm gro up business to meet budgeted sales goals. The Sales Manager will follow-up on all leads, maintain good relationships and generate gro up , travel and individual leads for the Worldwide Sales Offices and other Four Seasons Hotels.  The Sales Manager contacts customers in-house to promote good will and foster additional business, repeat bookings or referrals to other Four Seasons Hotels. Candidates should possess the ability to solicit gro up travel and have a high degree of independence, judgement and discretion on decision making. We are looking for a team player individual who has solid selling and interpersonal skills, demonstrates the energy and commitment to meet and exceed personal goals, and is a good fit for our dynamic and fun-loving sales team. The applicant will have a proven track record in pursuing, evaluating, soliciting, selling, contracting and confirming business as required in order to meet individual goals and overall budgeted sales and profitability.

Requirements

  • Applicants are required to have three years' previous experience in a similar role.
  • A college degree preferably specializing in hotel management or business administration, or equivalent experience is also .
  • Strong communications (telephone and in person).
  • Strong writing and oral presentation skills
  • Requires knowledge of and ability to operate computer equipment
  • 3 to 5 years in a similar role, Luxury brand preferred
  • Basic knowledge of hotel operations
  • Must already be legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • This individual must reside in the Los Angeles area and be available to work in-office.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell to gro up market in defined geographic region.
  • Generate hotel awareness through direct phone sales; direct sales calls, trade-shows and networking gro up s.
  • Work closely with sales and marketing team to solicit , sell and confirm gro up business to meet budgeted sales goals.
  • Develop accounts (new and existing) by mapping specific business and buying tendencies.  Include gro up profile for each meeting; maintain organized and professional plan for correspondence and follow up.
  • Perform daily telephone solicitations to new and existing accounts/customers in defined geographic region.
  • Promote awareness to corporate, incentive and association markets via travel to respective regions in the country providing presentations and personal sales calls as needed.
  • Maintain communication/relationship with WSO network for specific assigned region, as well as other FS hotels toward achieving pre-determined revenue goal.
  • Create and execute direct sales plan specific to market assignment.
  • Promote local awareness through maintaining relationships with CVB’s and tourism authorities.
  • Conduct tours of property to meeting planners and other potential customers while informing of all hotel services available; entertain customers on and off property, during site inspections, pre-planning trips, and program operation when appropriate .
  • Work closely with conference services and catering through execution of definite program; keep Director of Conference Services and Planning Committee promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matter so prompt corrective action can be taken where appropriate .
  • Coordinate all sales related activity through the direction of Director of Sales and/or Director of Marketing; negotiate contract specifics to achieve maximum profitability while satisfying customer needs.
  • Excellent knowledge of Golden account management system to achieve FS minimum Golden standards, while utilizing Delphi as an account/organizational tool; have a working knowledge of local and regional competition.
  • Assist with all guest inquiries within the sales and marketing department, including assisting with high telephone volume and walk-in site inspections.
  • Participate in hotel specific, local, and Four Seasons sponsored sales blitz, and telephone blitz activity.
  • Assist operations team in “crunch” situations.
  • Maintain relationships with peers at local hotels.
