About The Position

Directs the sales activities of the dealership by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Essential Duties Hires, trains, motivates, counsels and monitors the performance of all salespeople. Directs sales staffing and training in ways that will enhance the development and control of sales programs. Establishes annual and monthly objectives for unit sales, gross profits, expenses, and operating profit. Monitors salesperson productivity and performance. Orders/acquires new- and used-vehicle inventory. Administers and monitors factory-sponsored programs. Displays, merchandises and promotes new- and used-vehicles. Reviews market analyses and sales reports to determine customer needs, and volume potential, and develops sales campaigns to accommodate the goals of the dealership. Serves as liaison between sales department and other departments. Analyzes and controls expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements. Schedules and plans New Owner Clinics as a follow-up to the delivery process. Maintains a professional appearance. Attends managers meetings as requested. Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • State Sales License
  • Valid Driver's License
