About The Position

The Sales Manager is responsible for setting sales and gross margins goals for their branch, develop and implement sales programs and help develop, drive, and support Corporate programs. As a Sales Manager, this position directs and oversees the daily management of Field Sales Representatives. Responsibilities include training, coaching, motivating, recruiting, and developing field sales representatives. Sales Managers must be able to identify key markets, staying current on emerging trends and drives growth in a variety of markets. Qualifications & Requirements People Leadership & Talent Development Supervise sales representatives, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, discipline, and employee separation. Submit new hire requisitions for sales representatives and partner with managers on recruiting, interviewing, assessing, and hiring. Set individual sales and gross margin goals that are challenging, achievable, and aligned with Brady Industries’ profitability expectations. Develop sales talent in collaboration with Division Managers and General Managers by increasing industry knowledge and product expertise. Sales Strategy & Execution Lead branch sales targeting efforts by ensuring high-quality targets are identified and maintained in CRM. Champion the Blue Arrow sales process, ensuring consistent understanding and execution by all field sales representatives. Provide regular sales training focused on proactive selling versus reactive selling. Develop and implement strategies to penetrate and grow key market segments, including: Hospitality Industrial Health Care Food Service Training, Programs & Vendor Collaboration Coordinate sales training initiatives, including manufacturer-led programs, to expand and strengthen sales capabilities. Drive and support Brady Corporate programs and Blue Point Supplier initiatives in partnership with General Managers and Division Managers. Maintain primary focus on growing chemical, soap, liners, and paper product sales. Branch Leadership & Operational Improvement Exercise authority to implement changes that enhance branch capabilities, expand resources, and improve organizational effectiveness. Evaluate current structures and processes to drive continuous improvement and performance gains. Marketing & Market Awareness Collaborate with the marketing team on sales-related materials and campaigns. Maintain sales volume by adapting to changing market trends, economic indicators, competitive activity, and local supply-and-demand conditions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required, college degree in sales/marketing or business preferred
  • 10 years of related sales or related experience, or the equivalent combination of formal education and experience
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
