About The Position

Griffith Ford in San Marcos, TX is seeking a driven, hands-on Sales Manager to lead our sales team and help continue the dealership’s strong growth. This role is ideal for an experienced automotive leader who excels at coaching salespeople, desking deals, managing inventory, and delivering an exceptional customer experience while driving profitability.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of automotive sales management experience (required)
  • Strong understanding of desking, finance structure, and lender programs
  • Proven ability to develop salespeople and build a high-performing sales team
  • Experience with CRM and DMS systems (Tekion experience is a plus)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • High integrity, accountability, and a customer-first mindset
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends

Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and coach the sales team to meet and exceed monthly volume, gross, and CSI goals
  • Desk deals and structure transactions to maximize profitability and efficiency
  • Work closely with F&I to ensure smooth deal flow and clean paperwork
  • Manage inventory strategy including pricing, aging, and merchandising
  • Conduct daily sales meetings, training, and ongoing performance coaching
  • Ensure proper CRM usage, lead follow-up, appointment setting, and process compliance
  • Collaborate with the General Manager on forecasting, sales strategy, and performance metrics
  • Handle customer escalations professionally to protect CSI and dealership reputation
  • Monitor reports related to sales performance, conversion rates, and individual productivity
  • Maintain compliance with dealership policies, Ford standards, and all legal requirements
