About The Position

As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for managing customer relationships and pipelines, leading a sales team, driving commercial account sales, executing strategic plans, and coordinating cross-functional efforts.

Requirements

  • Experience in selling services versus products.
  • Commercial sales experience in construction, fire protection, plumbing, etc., to commercial clients.
  • Led and managed a team of sales professionals with 5 years of experience.
  • Ability to work independently and travel when needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years in commercial sales, preferably in service industries.
  • Proven CRM experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and develop a small sales team.
  • Strong track record in selling service solutions to commercial accounts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with construction industry processes like design-build and pre-construction budgeting.
  • Understanding of NFPA standards for fire protection or industry certifications.
  • Comfortable in both field and office environments, liaising directly with clients and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and optimize customer tracking spreadsheet usage to track leads, opportunities, and account history.
  • Ensure data accuracy and generate timely sales forecasts and pipeline reports.
  • Work closely with the current book of business to develop and expand business opportunities.
  • Recruit, mentor, and coach 1–2 sales representatives, establishing clear performance KPIs.
  • Conduct regular training on sales tactics, service offerings, and best practices.
  • Sell bundled service packages to commercial clients.
  • Identify and pursue new market segments, such as industrial, institutional, multifamily, and hospitality sectors.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Analyze sales metrics to identify opportunities and refine tactics.
  • Collaborate with estimating and project managers during RFQs and budgeting phases for pre-construction proposals.
  • Engage with operations teams to ensure seamless project kickoffs and service delivery.
