About The Position

The position involves staffing and directing a sales team while providing leadership towards achieving maximum growth and profitability in line with the company's vision, mission, and values. The role includes establishing plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the Equipment Depot marketing area and contributing to the development of customer-centric solutions. The individual will work closely with the Regional Material Handling Sales Director to strategically implement and manage all sales aspects of new/used forklifts, warehouse/allied products, and service/parts/rental sales strategy. The position requires knowledge and ability to assist the sales team in extending current specialty product markets and developing a presence in new regional areas, while collaborating with other business unit management to grow all aspects of the business.

Requirements

  • College Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years proven sales management experience in multi-location operation with large span of control.
  • Sales Management or Business Development professional with 5+ years of diversified industry experience in Material Handling products.
  • Basic knowledge and ability with Microsoft Office products.
  • Proven growth and market expansion record in the industrial distribution industry.
  • Exceptional leadership and team building skills with proven negotiating ability.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
  • Responsible for the performance and development of all salesmen in material handling regardless of function.
  • Assist in establishing and meeting vendor performance commitments.
  • Develop strong relationships with OEMs while representing Equipment Depot professionally.
  • Maintain contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Prepare action plans by Account Manager and by team for effective search of sales leads and prospects.
  • Initiate and coordinate development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
  • Understand the importance of timely follow-up with customers, managers, and staff.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.
  • Conduct one-on-one meetings with all Account Managers to build effective communications and understand training and development needs.
  • Provide timely feedback to Senior Management regarding performance.
  • Understand market pricing levels and work with Account Managers to increase market share while maintaining maximum profit margin.
  • Maintain accurate records of all pricings, sales, and activity reports submitted by Account Managers.
  • Assist Account Managers in preparation of proposals and presentations.
  • Control expenses to meet budget guidelines.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
  • Recruit, test, and hire Account Managers based on criteria set by senior management.
  • Assist in the implementation and use of a CRM system.
