About The Position

The iconic Washington Hilton is seeking a Group Sales Manager – Mid-Market to join our dynamic team in the heart of D.C. This role is responsible for securing mid-size group bookings ranging from 151–450 peak rooms across a variety of market segments. Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm and Hourly Pay Rate: $35.10 per/hour + opportunity for quarterly bonus incentive.

  • Ability to demonstrate a deep understanding of customer needs.
  • Disciplined approach to qualify, negotiate and secure new revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Secure groups and conventions by building and establishing relationships with customers.
  • Assist with mentoring and guiding the group sales manager and sales coordinator.
  • Research, solicit and generate new leads for group opportunities through database research and proactive sales efforts.
  • Represent the hotel in the development of market segment(s) and new customer relationships.
  • Maximize revenue and profitability for all hotel revenue streams.
  • Develop a business strategy by analyzing historical, current and future hotel and market trends.
  • Implement marketing initiatives to capture maximum lead revenue.
  • Actively engage with Hilton Worldwide Sales, Convention Bureau and Intermediaries.
  • Develop and execute plans for outside sales calls, industry tradeshows and customer events.
  • Maintain an up-to-date pipeline of business opportunities.
  • Conduct site inspections and create business proposals.
  • Coordinate customer specifications via identified lead management system.
  • Negotiate contracts and commission agreements with end user customers and intermediaries.
