About The Position

The Sales Manager at Brookdale Senior Living is responsible for driving occupancy levels in the community through effective sales and marketing strategies. This role involves training, managing the sales process, and developing relationships with prospective residents and referral sources. The Sales Manager will also coordinate community events and marketing efforts to enhance visibility and engagement within the local market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of experience and education required.
  • A minimum of two to five years of sales experience, preferably in the retirement industry or medical/pharmaceutical sales, with a proven track record of generating and closing leads.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license due to frequent car travel.
  • Extensive knowledge of sales and marketing principles and methods.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the retirement industry or medical/pharmaceutical sales is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in on-the-job training experiences for the Sales Manager role and demonstrate increasing proficiency in sales and marketing responsibilities.
  • Maintain and improve occupancy levels in accordance with marketing and business plans.
  • Manage the sales process by assisting prospective residents and their families in decision-making.
  • Coordinate and complete all activities needed for a sale, including initial assessments and ensuring required forms are completed.
  • Keep management informed about the status of prospective move-ins and track pre-residency steps.
  • Coordinate with the business development coordinator/director regarding business development efforts.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with residents, family, and professional referral sources to generate leads.
  • Represent the community and increase awareness through participation in outside events and community involvement.
  • Assist management with resident retention through various programs and events.
  • Partner with management to develop and execute marketing plans and achieve occupancy goals.
  • Monitor conversion ratios regarding sales performance and prepare reports for management.
  • Maintain working knowledge of lead management systems and input sales activities in a timely manner.
