Position Summary The primary responsibility of this position is to supervise the sales department activities, including supervision of the sales force and management of inventory. Core Responsibilities Responsibilities described in this section are fundamental to success in this position. Recruit, hire and train the sales force and any support staff ensuring that each individual receives the appropriate training for their skill level Supervise the sales department staff paying special attention to the flow of customers to the salespeople including “ups”, appointments, phone inquiries, and general showroom control Maintain control of the sales process including providing additional expertise as needed for the sales force Obtain monthly sales goals from GSM/GM, monitor success of attainment of goals Develop marketing strategies to increase sales and gross profit using advertising, promotions and sales incentives Maintain internal control over the vehicle inventory to prevent theft, vandalism and lot damage Develop a customer retention program that includes a follow-up of prospects and a flow of sold customers to the service department Control expenses for the sales departments paying special attention to gas expense, reconditioning and advertising Ensure that all sales staff receive specific product knowledge training and are product certified Ensure personal continuing education in product knowledge and management skills Take an active role in both Corporate and Community activities Uses personal device to provide an additional layer of security for company network and site access through multi-factor authentication. Enforce safety precautions specific to work area Other responsibilities as assigned
