About The Position

The role of the Americas Sales Manager is a critical role for the growth of the company. There is considerable potential to grow in the Americas with both new and existing customer accounts. In this position, the candidate will be responsible for developing sales strategies and initiatives for the Americas market to maximize sales revenue and profitability. This role is suited to a confident and organized sales professional, who has worked in a similar high technology company. The position will involve a high degree of travel.

Requirements

  • Computer Science or equivalent. MS / MBA is a plus.
  • 10+ years’ experience working in a fast-paced technological environment.
  • Proven sales track record, delivering outstanding results in prior positions in a high-tech product environment.
  • Capacity to build creative sales plans and sales initiatives, capable of having a long-term vision of the business.
  • Proven track record in business development, in particular gaining new business in large accounts from scratch.
  • Good negotiator with excellent customer relation skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • The proven ability to hire, build, and lead successful sales teams.
  • Must have a natural ability to engage in business relationships with individuals and groups and a desire to improve these talents.

Nice To Haves

  • MS / MBA is a plus.
  • Technical knowledge of digital imaging and/or optical systems would be a plus but is not a requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Help develop sales strategies and initiatives for the Pacific Region to achieve growth, maximize sales revenue and profitability.
  • Manage and nurture key accounts directly to maximize customer satisfaction and future sales opportunities.
  • Effectively demonstrate the benefits of Phantom cameras in a variety of applications and end users.
  • Provide input to Product Marketing, Engineering and Operations teams to help direct the development of new products that reflect market trends and customer needs in the region.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasting for budget planning to the Director of Sales, Americas.
  • Collaborate with our factory marketing team, to propose and help manage key marketing activities in Pacific Region intended to build Vision Research’s Phantom Brand.
  • Liaison with customer support and service to ensure thorough knowledge of territory/customers and potential problem issues and opportunities.
  • Positively represent Vision Research and the Phantom brand at all times.
  • Develop sales strategies and initiatives to deliver strong growth across the region.
  • Manage and develop both direct sales team and channel partners.
  • Provide input to Product Marketing, Engineering and Operations teams to help direct the development of new products that reflect market trends and customer needs in the Americas.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasting for budget planning to the Director of Global Sales.
  • Undertake marketing responsibilities locally in the Americas, in collaboration with our factory marketing team, to propose and help manage key marketing activities in the Americas intended to build Vision Research’s Phantom Brand.
