Parker Meggitt, a recent addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace markets, specializing in a wide range of products including power generation and conversion systems, magnetics, and sensors for extreme environments. Located in Milwaukie, OR (in the Greater Portland Area), this site is within the Fire, Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier in select aircraft and ground vehicle markets, spanning business jet, narrow body, wide body, and fighter jet platforms as well as military ground vehicles. We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, Lockheed Martin, and Raytheon, among others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree (required) with technical major preferred.
  • 10 years of progressively increasing business development experience that has provided visibility to a broad spectrum of emerging technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly understand customer's business, their key players and to create opportunities for the company.
  • Strong networking and facilitator skills to generate appropriate levels of contact with Customer's management and within Parker Aerospace.
  • Ability to seek out and pursue business development opportunities.
  • Possess a strong technical background to understand the technical requirement and capabilities.
  • Exceptional leadership and strategic thinking capabilities along with ability to interface with cross-functional disciplines.
  • Experienced at delivering customer service in the sector.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence.
  • Capable of directing the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems.
  • Hands-on oriented with 'can do' approach to drive tasks to completion.
  • Demonstrates a high-level of ethical behavior in exercising judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Responsibilities

  • Develops the working relationship between Parker Aerospace and the customer by performing the role of primary interface between the customer and the company.
  • Facilitates all aspects of the business including sales, technical, contractual delivery, service, quality, and aftermarket support.
  • Develops and maintains a close, trusted, and effective working relationship with the customer, and nurtures vertical and horizontal contacts.
  • Builds and expands revenue with the customer by obtaining access to the customers technical and requirements road maps.
  • Identifies customer requirements and matches them to Parker Aerospace's core competencies and strategic objectives.
  • Coordinates the development of proposals providing the strategic and tactical insight to maximize the potential for winning the work.
  • Assists in contract negotiations to ensure favorable and consistent terms are established for Parker Aerospace.
  • Coordinates bids and contracts with the customer and ensure bids are coordinated across Parker Aerospace.
  • Represents internally the customers' needs and expectations to the business unit.
  • Keeps informed on competitive products, pricing and new product development.
  • Identifies target markets/applications for division products.
  • Keeps management informed of competitive and market issues via monthly reports.
  • Must continuously maintain the highest degree of customer service, throughput, quality, cost reduction and people productivity.
