This role involves leading and coordinating the daily activities of team members engaged in customer and/or prospect management activities. The Sales Leader is responsible for achieving business results, attracting new customers, and growing existing customer relationships by coaching and managing to defined strategies and tactics. They develop and oversee the execution of account and sales plans, and may also have direct sales and client responsibilities. The position requires managing risk/return and driving quality for new and/or existing clients, actively identifying and mitigating various types of risk such as regulatory, reputational, operational, and credit risks. The Sales Leader manages an effective network of senior internal and external relationships, including community or industry relationships, to acquire new clients, expand existing clients, and enhance the client experience, focusing on bringing the full range of PNC's products and services to clients. They leverage reporting and sales tools to proactively identify and convert sales opportunities. A key aspect of the role is developing team members, monitoring their progress against individual goals, motivating staff, acquiring top talent, and managing performance-based issues. The leader effectively plans, organizes, directs, analyzes, and evaluates staff and processes, connecting strategy to day-to-day activities and providing regular team updates. They also coach team members on skills needed to analyze, evaluate, and mitigate credit risk, and to lead others on credit requests using advanced knowledge of credit fundamentals and internal credit policies. PNC employees are expected to be customer-focused, knowledgeable of practices that align customer needs and satisfaction, and adept at managing all risks associated with business objectives to ensure adherence to PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework. As a manager, the individual is expected to cultivate diverse teams, role model values, drive change and innovation, take personal ownership for results, empower others, and develop employees and customers.

Requirements

  • Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree.
  • Industry experience is typically 8+ years.
  • At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
  • Education: Bachelors degree.
  • Competencies: Conflict Management, Decision Making and Critical Thinking, Effective Communications, Managing Multiple Priorities, Sales Management, Selling.
