About The Position

The Williamsburg Sales Lead is responsible for assisting in the oversight of the day-to-day operations of the assigned store while maintaining focus on store sales goals. In addition to providing in-store customer sales support, the Sales Lead will be responsible for assisting in various tasks including (store inventory, marketing, and building the store’s client base). Sales Lead’s also assist with choreographing the daily activities of a team of retail specialists. They practice entrepreneurial ownership of their shop and make choices which benefit the store in a successful direction.

Requirements

  • 1 year of retail customer service experience in a client-focused environment (preferably in the beauty industry).
  • Overall knowledge of the business landscape and ability to translate findings to positively impact business.
  • Independent work ethic and time management skills.
  • Ability to work retail hours including days, nights, weekends and special events in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to stand and move about the store more than 90% of scheduled shift.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite preferred, especially Excel. Strong experience and aptitude with Point-of-Sale (POS) computer systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead as an ambassador of the (MALIN+GOETZ) brand.
  • Motivate and support staff and coach the team on the sales floor providing relevant and consistent feedback to improve store performance.
  • Review sales performance with the Shop Manager and work with the team to deliver on or above budgeted sales.
  • Reinforce store protocol within company policy and procedures with an emphasis on customer service.
  • Foster a harmonious positive work environment and provide a safe and clean environment for our customers and associates.
  • Assist in ensuring the team is well versed in the brand and has a thorough understanding of our products.
  • Ensure all functions of the store are maintained to support a superior shopping experience.
  • Ensure the entire store is clean, shop ready and open for business at the appropriate time each day.
  • Communicate in a timely manner with Shop Manager when issues arise which may hamper store operations.
  • Manage the cash register bank to assure proper mix of cash and change.
  • Perform inventory counts to coordinate orders for stock with office in a responsible and timely manner.
  • Cultivate relationships within the neighborhood for cross-promotional, marketing, and potential amenity opportunities.
  • Review & execute merchandising directives, visual displays, and other in-store activations supporting promotional events or holiday shopping occasions.
  • Partner with store Leadership and Training and Education Manager on training the store team and new hires on brand history, product knowledge and our superior customer service model.
