About The Position

The Sales Lead at The Salvation Army's Geary Street Thrift Store is a part-time position responsible for overseeing daily store operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and managing store profitability. This role involves mentoring program participants, implementing work therapy assignments, and collaborating with the Store Manager to meet sales and income expectations while maintaining a well-organized store environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one-year previous retail experience; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to pass a background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
  • Effective communication skills with management, store employees, customers, and donors.

Responsibilities

  • Take an active role and partner with the Store Manager in daily store operations including opening and closing procedures, point of sale operations, and inventory management.
  • Assume responsibility for all day-to-day store operations in the absence of the Store and/or Assistant Manager.
  • Assist the Store Manager in monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators to drive store sales and increase profitability.
  • Schedule Store Employees to ensure appropriate coverage in the store and donation center in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager.
  • Ensure high levels of Customer and Donor satisfaction through excellent service and develop strategies to improve service.
  • Support the Store Manager to ensure Back Room Processors/Warehouse Associates work effectively to meet daily processing goals.
  • Supervise and support program Beneficiaries when Work Therapy Assignments are in place at the store.
  • Responsible for the protection and security of store currency, inventory, and property in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager.
  • Ensure building security during non-operating hours with alarm system arming and alert protocol.
  • Assist with conducting and recording mandatory Weekly Store Meetings.
