Are you up for the opportunity of a lifetime? If so, we are seeking an Summer Sales Intern. The Sales Intern will support both the Inside Sales and Operations teams. This hybrid role provides foundational experience in the full sales cycle, from lead generation and market research to essential customer relationship management and operational support. This position is ideal for a proactive student looking to immediately apply their professional selling skills in a results-oriented business environment.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Required: Successful completion of MKT 3358 Professional Selling or equivalent professional sales coursework.
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and follow up diligently.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and a desire to learn complex business processes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and active listening), honed through sales role-play training.
  • Assertive, takes initiative, and possesses a consultative approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel) and a willingness to learn CRM tools.
  • High energy, positive attitude, and a focus on exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Prospecting & Research: Conduct targeted market research to identify and qualify new business leads within defined verticals.
  • Outbound Communication: Perform high-volume outbound calls (cold and warm) and personalized email outreach to introduce the company's value proposition and generate interest.
  • Meeting Generation: Successfully schedule introductory discovery calls and qualified meetings for the Inside/Outside Sales teams.
  • Value Proposition: Articulate the company’s competitive advantages and service offerings clearly and persuasively.
  • Data Management: Accurately maintain and update sales records and customer information within the CRM tool (e.g., Salesforce, etc.).
  • Proposal Support: Assist in preparing initial draft quotes and proposals by leveraging standard pricing templates and product data.
  • Customer Liaison: Shadow cross-functional roles from Account Coordinators and Supply Planners to Shipping & Receiving and Inventory Specialist to learn the post-sale order management process, providing light support on tracking activities from order placement through delivery.
