This particular internship is a Spring Semester opportunity (with the possibility of extension), focusing on sales and business development in the areas of Commercial Lines and Group Benefits. First, you will shadow our service and support teams to understand business insurance needs and risk management strategies. You will also learn about the importance of building strong relationships with our customers and carrier partners. Next, you will work closely with our Sales Advisors to learn the process of identifying, engaging, and onboarding new clients. You will participate in client and prospect meetings, learn client management systems and prospecting strategies, and practice creating sales pitches and handling rejections. And lastly, you will independently prospect for new business while also working warm leads obtained through both internal and external sources.

Requirements

  • Junior- or Senior-level college student.
  • Property and Casualty insurance licenses (must be obtained if not already possessed).
  • A valid driver’s license, the ability to drive, and a reliable vehicle in order to meet with clients.
  • Excellent computer skills, with the ability to utilize Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, and Excel), the internet, and other agency management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent service-oriented skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities
